I have been a nurse for 40 plus years and when o had RUQ abdominal pain and nausea post cholecystectomy, I knew I needed an EUS and ERCP. I went to Texas Health Rockwall, where I was given IV antibiotics and fluids but they didn’t have a physician to do the tests needed. I asked to be transferred and was transferred to Texas Health Plano where Dr Burdick was on call. Although it was a Saturday, he did the procedure that day! By the next day, I was pain free! This is long overdue. My wife and I would like to thank god for Dr. Burdick. My wife had a perforated esophagus from a surgical procedure and was declining rapidly and nearing death due to all the poisons and side effects of the perforation. Dr. Burdick used a rare specialty, the Endo Sponge procedure to clog or fill the perforation that allowed the body to heal internally and close the perforation over time. There was no way to speed the process. Once the sponge becomes saturated it would have to be removed and replaced. Th... read more
