A fantastic store to visit. Lots of high quality furniture. I also had the pleasure of meeting Rachel, Lisa, Dave and Colleen. They gave my friends and I a wonderful historic tour of their business and building, which was the highlight of our downtown experience.
Visited the business with my roommates and was met with an astonishing amount of kindness and hospitality. Lisa showed us around the building all while explaining the rich history and beautiful presence of James Reid Furniture. Additionally, the furniture looked amazing! Thank you so much for the experience! #Tuesday chooseday
My friends and I stumbled upon this store while waiting for an open table at a restaurant, and I am so glad we did. The worker was very passionate about the history of the store and gave us a very interesting lesson. The store itself is beautiful, with so many unique little sections. My friends and I particularly loved the limestone room! If you are in Kingston, I would highly recommend stopping by to see Canadas oldest furniture store.
Wow! What an incredible experience going into this stunning furniture store. It is located in a historical building that used to be a funeral home and bowling alley and carriage house for horses! They have maintained all the historical elements with love and passion. And the furniture is aesthetically stunning. The whole place takes you on an epic journey. My 19-year old daughter and I were dazzled and enchanted by its magic. And now we want to treat ourselves to their beautiful furniture. Lisa, Jeff and Dave (the owner) are... read more
Such a fascinating and unique furniture store! Upon entering we got given a full history of the store by the staff and found out one of the connecting buildings was over 200 years old! Previously the buildings were used as a theatre, bowling alley, dance studio and funeral home! Not only is the history incredible but the furniture is so beautifully made, all of the pieces are one of a kind and sooo elegant. It’s rare to find furniture of this quality! Definitely give this place a visit even if your not in need of some furnit... read more
