I was scheduled for a hernia surgery starting at 12n on a Friday. 36 hours prior, Dr McGreavy cancelled because he didn't want to 'start a surgery so late in the day'. I had already had a pre-op physical, gone back for an x-ray, lab tests and a Covid test. I had arranged rides and grocery shopped and pre-ccooked meals (I'm alone). I had my gallbladder removed recently and when I began to experience immense pain on a Sat (9 on pain scale) I called and left a message for the on-call surgeon who was Dr McGreevy. After 3 hrs of not hearing back I called again. The answering service called him and kept him on the line in order for him to actually speak to me. He could care less about me and said he had no access to prescriptions. Maybe others have had better care from him when it was on his terms - despicable conduct!
Dr. McGreevy is highly communicative. My mother in law had surgery today and he spent plenty of time with our family explaining the procedure. She is 96 years old and liked him as well when she met him. He seems highly competent and professional. We were extremely pleased.
I don't even know where to begin. He performed surgery on my mom and the entire experience was bad for my mom as well as my entire family. He has a pretty big ego and as a result has a terrible bedside manner, I don't feel like he has any empathy at all towards his patients either. He also made personal remarks towards my family that were offensive, judgmental and very unprofessional. I do not trust his judgment or feel that my mom is in good hands.
Dr. McGreevy has excellent bedside manner and has been very good about communication.
I had appointment with him to discuss upcoming surgery. He didn't explain anything about the surgery itself, such as how long it would take, what's involved, recovery, etc. After waiting over 45 minutes to see him, he was in and out in about 10 minutes. I would not recommend this dr. I felt as if he glossed over my situation and had more important things to tend to.
I was referred to Dr. McGreevy by my OB due to a severe case of mastitis which ultimately turned into MRSA. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. McGreevy's care; I feel I he saved my life! Dr. McGreevy closely monitored my progress through multiple meetings per week, explained recommended care and helped me get well. I cannot express my gratitude enough!
Dr McGreevy performed a panniculectomy and hernia repair for me. His recommendations made sense to me and fit my needs. He was friendly, calm, and easy to speak to. When I told him I was nervous, his response was well I'm not- so we'll balance each other out. His bedside manner is excellent and he knows how to explain things so they are understood clearly. I highly recommend him.
