Dr. James Lopes, is the absolute kindest, best bed side mannered, kind person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is educated, caring, committed and an all around good person. His staff are also kind and compassionate and promptly get all tasks handled. I trust this Doctor with every inch of my being. I sincerely hope at some point in my lifetime, that we cross paths again, even at a coffee shop where I would not hesitate to have a sit and small laugh with him. He truly cares! My covered gastric bypass/hernia repair was denied by UHC a week before my surgery. His scheduler called me to tell me, and laughed as she read off the reasoning from UHC. After 8 months of prep for this life altering surgery, this was a gut punch. I asked her to slow down, and asked for her to pause a moment, as I was understandably upset. She hung up on me. I had intussusception in 2019 where a colorectal surgeon corrected it. In 2020, there was intussusception again seen on a scan, mind you this is extremely rare in adults. I had my second surgery, October 2020 after roughly 6 hrs after finding my initial diagnosis. After going in the intussusception corrected itself, therefore luckily a much more minor surgery for me.
