Dr Liu (along with his colleague Dr Jyung) removed a grade 2 vestibular schwannoma from the right side of my head. He was able to prevent any damage to my facial nerve, although, as expected based on my history, both my right auditory and vestibular functions were lost. I highly recommend this doctor ! Dr. Liu is one of the most knowledgeable, kind and humble doctors I have ever met. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions without making me feel any type of way for asking them. He was patient with me as I went through my medical history and symptoms. I’ve been having symptoms for several years now( mainly constant headaches/headpressure but also brain fog and tinnitus. I went to so many doctors and none of them really knew how to treat me or had even seen or heard of my condition before(styloidogenic venous compression syndrome) sometimes referred to as vascular Eagles syndrome. Dr James Liu has given me my life back. For the past 3 years I was debilitated with facial nerve pain. The fear of not knowing when the pain will come back, how painful the pain and how long it will last was overwhelming and stressful. The most recent episode lasted 10 days-hours at a time - It took that long for the medicines to kick in. Dr Liu performed a decompression of the blood vessel pressing affected nerve.
