After many years of getting misdiagnosed for a back issue, I finally was referred to Dr. Nguyen. He not only figured out the problem very quickly, but did surgery and fixed the problem. I have been pain free for 2 years now and am totally relieved that their are doctors like Dr. Nguyen in the world.
My mother had back surgery and the surgery itself went well, but the follow-up could not be any worse. My mother is elderly and the operation took four hours longer than expected and she is suffering cognitive issues. But after a month I can't get any neurological care. I don't feel we were properly forewarned and then blown-off afterwards. It looks bad for the doctor who referred my mother to Dr. Nguyen and their practice.
This has been a nightmare! Had ACDF surgery on 10/15 and Dr. Nguyen was so eager to send me home right after surgery the same day. After surgery, I was in incredible pain and couldn’t even walk. I also have lupus, which Dr. Nguyen was made aware of in the beginning, so this was very hard on my body. The Physical Therapy department kept me in the hospital for two days because they felt it unsafe for me to leave the hospital. It is not so much the actual surgery as much as the bedside manner of my surgeon. In conversations before my surgery, he told me in 2 weeks, I would feel so much better.It is now eight months , and I still feel horribly. Yes, I was given very unrealistic expectations and although I am better than when I went into surgery, I am still feeling alot of pain. Dr. Nguyen has basically washed his hands of me. Condescending. Smirked through the entire appointment, parroted what the referring doctor had said. Offered nerve conduction test, but when I said yes, let's try it, even though I know it will be painful, he then said no, he didn't want to work with me. Both of these doctors didn't want to take on a challenging case, and made me feel bad about being in so much pain and so frustrated about delays in treatment. He only has ONE office day a month, so good luck.
