We built with James Engle 3 years ago and the entire experience with them has been wonderful! Every person we have worked with has been extremely easy and accommodating even years later! If we build again down the road we will use them again!
Jim has proven to be unbelievably difficult to work with. From the initial contract negotiation, to the basement finish to the warranty work I have found him to be completely unreasonable. I have warranty work that needs to be completed and have held back less than 1% of the total price of the house, including basement finish (which was ALL prepaid) in order to get some pretty significant drainage problems fixed. He won't even answer the phone to talk with me, but he does threaten to send the issue to his lawyers. I will nev... read more
