The three star is more of an alert than criticism. Several miles before the summit (and before you can see the telescope station) there is a vehicle check point that requires you to be driving a four wheel drive (which our rental wasn't). That meant we could not proceed to our objective, which makes sens from a safety point of view. There were some nice exhibits and short trails to hike at the check point, so we did that instead. what an amazing place to be present. You can feel how men has a deep fascination for our Nature, and the Stars. The air is so celan colors are presented very intense. It feels sacred and it humbles you.
Worth the trip, make the time even when on vacation.
