I was one of his fist Patience he was with Dr Robert Barrett off of 8th Avenue I was just 15 he is one of the best Dr I have seen in my life just love him wish he was my Doctor still.
Doctor Murphy has been my personal physician for over 30 years. All I can say is that he has kept me alive thus far! He switched to a concierge practice several years ago, and it was affordable to me at that time. It has certainly been worth the extra money to have more time to ask questions during visits and to get the personal attention that is impossible with traditional practices, due to Medicare restrictions. I've found Dr. Murphy to be wise, highly experienced, polite and professional. Yes, this is a concierge practice and so no, not everyone will choose to or be able to spend the money on it. We find it worthwhile. The office staff is excellent -- friendly, knowledgeable, and they know who you are when you call, no long IVR with 1000 questions you've answered before. The off-hours triage service is knowledgeable, and promptly contacts the doctor for direction. .
Called for appointment but I was told he has a 2000 dollar retainer fee not covered by insurance not even PPO. Im like so he caters to patients in a certain tax bracket the response I got was "mostly!!!!! Im like wow the retainer fee is outragious This ia set up to keep out regular working folk like my husband and I!!!!
Reading these negative reviews are sad. Dr. Murphy is a very caring and loving human being. What folks don't understand is the concierge physician concept. I did not at first. Dr. Murphy had a HUGE private practice for many many years. A few years ago he changed to concierge medicine and my Mother remained with him because of his loving and caring nature.
