My Grandma bought a coffee and vanilla slice. As it was expensive ($17.90ish) she asked about the price after buying. The slice was stale so she asked for a refund to buy another cake. The manager came back, refused to refund it and argued that is wasn’t stale. The manager said she was just trying to get a refund. Looking at the previous reviews, I’m not surprised there hasn’t been improvements given the managers poor response to my grandmas complaint.
$20.50 for drink and cake is not ideal when the orange and almond cake is $10.50 (and was the size of my finger and stale). Plus the service said how they hate chai when I ordered my iced chai. Totally overpriced, stale and tiny servings.
I was in a rush with two other people and chose this café purely because of its location, as we needed to be elsewhere within 20 minutes just outside of westfields complex. One person ordered a coffee, another ordered a drink, and I quickly skimmed the menu and attempted to order a toastie. I genuinely missed that it was listed on the kids’ menu. Whilst the service, coffee and my vanilla slice was lovely, the price, over $18 was exorbitant. Prices for cakes and slices are not displayed at the counter, on the menu (hard copy or website). I find this somewhat disappointing as you order, expecting a reasonable cost in a shopping centre cafe, only to be charged ridiculously high prices. Prices should be published in the window at the very least.
