I (a personal home caregiver), along with my wife and 99 year old client moved to Puako, 1 week after the Lahaina wildfires of August 2023. My client who passed in August of 2024 a year after the fire at the age of 100 years old, while we lived with his daughter in Puako. Would have me drive his 20 year old Toyota Camry in on different occasions to JAKL automotive for servicing or repair work. I'm a survivor from the 2023 wildfires in Lahaina. Then WE moved here to Puako as to continue care for an elderly person who loss his home and personal belongings in the fires. I found JAKL as a totally awesome company. They did service and repair work on my car 4 times this year. What a GREAT!!!! company. They were caring, professional, helpful and no funny business. I'm returning back to Maui in 3 weeks and I'll miss these guys and gals Thanks JAKL
Generally do good work however just make sure they tell you they're going to charge you almost 200 bucks for diagnostic even after you arrive and you pretty much state the obvious (in my case the AC compressor was toast). This definitely felt like a burn and I have yet to go back after being a regular for year and a half.
Very attentive and explained in detail. Very reliable service.
I recently took my car in to Jakl after another repair place had told me it would have to go to the dealer which was at least a month waitlist. I reached out to Jakl, and they said to bring it in to do a diagnostic. Within 24 hours, they had it diagnosed, and fixed! Reasonable pricing, friendly staff, and masters of their craft. Would def recommend, esp on the island where it's difficult at best to find good people in the auto repair field. Much mahalos
