Dr Ruth Jacobs was my infectious disease Dr assigned when I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis in 2024. She was on top of my care and I am SO thankful for her expertise and knowledge to help me get better.
I was hospitalized due to extreme pain in my hip and because my case was unusual I Dr. Ruth was assigned. The tests she ordered showed I had a staph infection localized in one of the muscles there. The textbook treatment was to remove the infected muscle, which would have rendered me unable to walk! She asked if she could try an experimental treatment using a high dose of an antibiotic intravenously. Of course, I said "Yes!"
