On the night of Sunday, October 16, 2022, I had a terrible accident in our home on Duck Key. I fell down a flight of stairs, headfirst, hitting a wall with my forehead. The impact was so great, that I opened a hole on the wall with my head! My wife called fire rescue, and I was airlifted from the Keys to Jackson South Hospital Trauma Unit. This place admitted my mother 4 or 5 times in the space of three months. They couldn't properly diagnose her; even told her that her illness was all in her head. Finally she got to Homestead hospital where she was diagnosed properly but by that time her body was in such poor shape she died after surgery. I wouldn't take my worst enemy to Jackson South...or maybe I should!
