The hotel is historic with very nice rooms, the staff is incredible, the breakfast is okay, but it is right next to a railway. Trains come all through out the night waking you up about every 2 hours. It felt like I was in My Cousin Vinny. The walls are very thin and you can hear TVs, coughing, talking, through the walls. It’s about 40 minutes to Blacksburg, but if you aren’t the heaviest sleeper or wear a C-Pap to drone out the trains, good luck sleeping.

We loved the atmosphere of the hotel! The decor was beautiful. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the corner room on the third floor and it was huge! Not enough lighting, though. The hotel is about 45 minutes from Virginia Tech and close to Radford.

We had a disappointing visit at Jackson Park Inn . My wife called and spoke directly with the front desk prior to our trip about the fact that she was highly allergic to pets . They informed her that the only pets allowed were service dogs . She understood this policy . However upon entering the breakfast buffet we discovered a pet on leash , but no service vest at one of the tables near the food area. We have stayed here every year for the past 5 years and we always enjoy it. Great location right down town and the unique rooms have beautiful beams and wood work. Every room is huge with a separate living area, kitchenette, and bedroom.
