Run away from J.H. they're dishonest and not even apologetic about it. I had the simplest of tax returns, yet had to pay TRIPLE their promotional price. When done MORE than HALF my refund was gone. Oh, and their "Tax Professionals" are not that. They just cruise thru software that does everything for them just like TurboTax and others. Save your money and time traveled to their location and just do it yourself.

Bait and Switch—Beware of the "Starting At" Price I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Jackson Hewitt. They heavily advertise a $49 tax prep fee, but after sitting through the appointment, I was slapped with a bill for $450. I understand that complex forms cost more, but a 900% increase is predatory. There was zero transparency about these mounting costs until the very end when the work was already done. Save yourself the headache and the money—go to a local CPA or use a flat-fee online service instead.

They have no good tax preparers here . The iIRS returned an overpayment of over 500 that I made and they said they said they sent it to Jackson Hewitt instead of my bank Which is not illegal for them to do but Jackson Hewitt would cooperate by returning it back to me . When I call Jackson Hewitt they deny getting it and want to charge me an additional 87 dollars that they say I still owe when they already had charges me over $500 for my file preparation already .
