I had a very disappointing experience at Jackson Hewitt. The office itself smelled strongly of cigarette smoke from other customers, which made a poor first impression. I also had a 5:00 PM appointment, arrived on time, and still was not seen until 5:30 PM. The biggest issue was the appointment itself. I came in specifically for help filing an amended tax return, but instead of listening to what I needed, the preparer became argumentative and dismissive. Mel did my taxes. He demonstrated knowledge of the tax process. He was very pleasant.
The staff is wonderful but I don't know why my refund is taking so long after I've done all I needed to do.....
