This place is a dump. The outside patio should be condemned. They haven't cleaned it for a long time. It's like eating in a dirty garage. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and with the breeze who knows what is falling into your food. We went for a late lunch and it took forever to get our food. It wasn't even busy. Good food, great location, casual – Have been there about two dozen times. Summers are crazy and you can wait up to an hour when busy. I have heard people say really stupid things to the owner twice. Once was in the outdoor eating area, a woman asked if he could make the little bugs go away. Anyone who lives near Lake Erie knows what Canadian Soldiers are and how stupid that question was. Fantastic food and atmosphere – I've been going to Jackalope's just about every Fri for over a year and hate it when I can't make it. I have NEVER had a bad meal. All their ingredients are fresh with much of it being from the area. A great place to enjoy good food with friends.
Only great restaurant left on the lake! – Amazing food and great atmosphere. Only restaurant with quality food located on our great lake. There must be a reason they have been open for ten plus years and that's because Jim Andrews knows what he is doing.
Good Steaks – The experiences we have had at the Jackalope have always been pleasant. Especially on the enclosed patio. Our most recent visit was May 19. We had marvelous food and a great waitress. I don't know who the manager is, but we had no problems what-so-ever. Yes, the bar gets quite rowdy. It's a place for boaters. We are not boaters, but it such a casual atmosphere, that we enjoy it. Overated hole in the wall – Just visited this location after being referred by a friend. Was extremely disappointed. Before even trying the food, the owner stopped by our table and was very rude with some of his comments towards my wife. I think his name is Jim Andrews. After that we ordered the Perch. Well I think they scooped it up floating by the dock because it was terrible. Will be the last time going there.
Horrible service...food made me sick....owner arrogant and belittles people – I just ate at this horrible place the food is terrible and overpriced. The owner Jim Andrews is rude and actually touches you. I would never recommend this place it is run down. The people that come to drink are loud and old. It is for an older crowd 50 +++++
