In 2017 I had Dr. Smith perform a heart operation on me at Good Samaritan Hospital. When he opened me up he found that my mitral valve was leaking. He cut away the bad part that was stopping my valve from closing and I avoided having to have a mechanical or pig valve put in. During the night of recovery I went into afib and fortunately Dr. Smith was there to rescue me. I have a stress test scheduled for Monday and if I’m told that I need a heart operation I’ll certainly call upon Dr. Smith again. Thank you Dr. Smith!!
Without exaggeration, Dr. Smith saved my life and gave me a second chance with a valve replacement 8 months ago. I was out and walking miles on my own within a week and a half after surgery, and now less than a year later I'm comfortably running multiple 10ks weekly. I cannot express my gratitude enough, or overstate the quality of care I received.

Dr. Smith was a resident at Good Samaritan hospital when my husband had his third heart valve surgery. Dr. Smith was studying that day and was called in to assist and was saved by Dr. Smith that day. My experience from the moment of introduction to release of care to my cardiologist was exceptional. Upon introduction, he answered all my questions with patience. I had surgery on August 8th and today I feel really good with consideration given to the limited period of time lapsed from surgery date. No complications, my energy level has surpassed the level prior to the surgery, and my blood pressure has improved and resting heart rate has decreased from 85 bpm to 72 bpm. He is one of the best.
