Received a bill for $1,087.00 for a 4 view cervical x-ray. My insurance reimbursed $244.47 and this doctor through his employer is balance billing me the rest. Could you imagine? For an Xray! I could pay cash for an MRI cheaper. Accepting what my insurance paid would be appropriate and reasonable. Balance billing 800 dollars to the patient for an xray is preposterous. I’m sure he’s not directly responsible for the billing practices of his employer, but it has to be addressed somehow. Recommend against.
