Not too happy with some of the changes being made to J Gumbos, including but not limited to $1 For sour cream, jalapenos, and cheese. But what's even crazier is, I go back and forth with the person who works at this location, For 6 or 7 minutes, to try to ask for only a scoop and a half of rice To the two scoops of entree I chose; Only to have her say "I would rather not sell you anything than you leave unhappy" But I won't leave unhappy if my request is honored... I got the Voodoo Chicken and Bumblebee Stew and was honestly stunned by how good it was. I even liked the crawfish cheese dip, which normally I am not super big on seafood! Portions were also HUGE and will definitely get a second meal out of it. This is a carry-out only joint but the employee was very helpful and super sweet! Will definitely be back.
Picked up two bowls of the bumblebee stew, voodoo chicken, and then an order of the crawfish cheese dip for my fiancée and I. I’ve been a fan of J Gumbos for more than a decade, and everything hit the spot same as it always has. Very good bang for your buck with the portion sizes; enough to have two meals from one bowl of any entree. We will be returning whenever we feel like getting cozy at home with some good ol bowls of cajun goodness.
