Tried this place a couple of times, the brisket was closer to a dry roast, ribs were hard and not moist. Cornbread and bottlecaps are what gained the stars.
Tried this BBQ joint twice on business travel. First experience was sub-par so we gave it another shot. Even slower service, dirty bathrooms, and overcooked/held too long food. Ribs seemed to be held over from previous days both visits. Pulled pork was overly fatty yet bland. Gained back a star with killer cornbread both times.
On a trip across North Dakota, we were looking for having lunch somewhere further off the interstate. my wife found JD's and we headed there. they have some good choices and reasonable prices, the brisket was very good, the chicken was also good, loved the beans, and the server was great, she had humor, and made two strangers feel welcome. we will be back the next time we are in North Dakota
