Disappointed. I came to dr Gilbert for help but she Dr Gilbert didn’t help, explain, treat or offer follow up. Didn’t let me ask questions, didn’t talk to me at all. It was awful
Dr Gilbert didn’t listen to me at all about my pain. She didn’t ask questions or even look at my back where the pain was from. When I tried to explain more, she got louder and abruptly left the room. I didn’t want medication, I just wanted to know what was wrong with my back. She didn’t get labs or images. No one from the office ever followed up. Turns out it was a common problem that was diagnosed and treated later, when I was lucky enough to found a doctor who actuallylistened.
Dr. Doucette failed to answer my questions. When i asked about exploring whether I had endometriosis, he told me “sometimes in life we need to learn to deal with pain” and that it was impossible for me to have endometriosis because I was not 25 yet. I went to a different doctor, and they agreed to do diagnostic surgery, where they found I had “lots” of lesions from endometriosis. Dr. Doucette invalidated my very real pain and didn’t believe me at all. If you want to be heard or listened to, do not go to Dr. Doucette.
Dr. Doucette was late to my appointment due to being out to lunch. When my ultrasound came back clear he offered up no possible explanations for my abnormal pain. The conversation lasted less than three minutes. He didn't offer any other suggestions, tests, or things I myself could do to improve the pain. He was very short with me and very cold. Dr. Doucette is a wonderful physician. He took excellent care of me during my pregnancy. I felt respected, heard, and cared for as a person.
