This review is for Madewell which is owned by J.Crew. They have a ridiculous return policy that counts 30 days from the shipping date from the merchant. It also apparently includes their 2-4 weeks of processing a return. I was given a gift card instead of refunding to my original payment method because according to them I had exceeded their return window and that they made an exception. Incredible that a company would rather lose customers rather than provide a $64 credit to be used within their store. During these times (COVID) people are not getting together as normal. I received a gift from Christmas three months late as we were waiting for our mother who has preexisting health conditions to get vaccinated. Terrible services and policies. I placed an order online for two shirts. In a few days I received a pair of jeans I didn’t order. I asked for the order to be corrected and the shirts shipped, but they wanted proof of the wrong product I received. I was already out of town when this correspondence took place. I assumed in the meantime the sale would sell out of the shirts. BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT shop at J CREW. Our order was not refunded the amount that we were promised after customer support rep "Aaron P" promised us via email that the order would be refunded in full after it was returned. We messaged their support staff and they didn't refund us! We couldn't believe it. J CREW's customer service is honestly so terrible to deal with. They are rude and unresponsive. Purchase a pair of slippers, received two left feet. I had to pay for the return shipping. Not cool.
Online order was never assisted. Emails went on for several days without any recognition of the problem that I had where they refused to offer expedited shipping during an online order. When I emailed them asking for help with receiving expedited shipping I was told first to contact *** then in a second email from Michael R I was told they couldn't change the speed and that I should go back online and reorder the products I needed with expedited shipping.
