I've known Chris, the mechanic, for several years. He's done work on my car elsewhere previously, and now he's working at J&A with Gus, for whom he has the utmost respect. I would take my car for repairs with no reservations. If they told me my brakes were "metal on metal", I'd fix them immediately before any lesser issue like a misfire. I was recently at J&A as my friend recommended it for me. I came there with a clear misfire in my engine. But my car was inspected completely and they found that besides the misfire which was caused by the leaking valve cover, my front brakes also were in a bad shape. On the phone I told Gus that I want to repair ONLY the misfire and that's it.
