You have to visit this place — it’s amazing! Quite a big Japanese-style resort with stunning mountain views, a koi pond, a Japanese sauna, and beautiful sculptures. The only downside: the food was disappointing. A Spanish chef was cooking Japanese dishes, and it just didn’t work well. As you can see, it might look “fancy,” but they actually placed the little soy sauce dish directly into my main dish. The soy sauce splashed into my food and made it look messy and even a bit dirty. It didn't taste good either.
My sister and I went to have facials for our special birthday present. We had a little time and We went across to Izanami for the happy hour. We were very unhappy when we were told that they were at full capacity (the restaurant was practically empty at 5ish) and then were invited to sit in the rather tacky merchandise entry way to have a cocktail We were Very annoyed. The staff was So uptight and clearly following orders. Not fun Not cool.
Has open tables, and refuses to allow us to sit for happy hour.
Everything about my experience here was simply elegant, inviting and comfortable. The entire property is absolutely beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and the restaurant shared this aesthetic. Beautiful place. The quality is good but the plates are veery small. I spent over $100 and was still hungry. It was my partner’s birthday and left a note on my reservation but no extra details for that. A gesture would have been nice. The staff was friendly though.
