It's been years since I went to Ixtapa, but I took my sister for her birthday the other day. They happened to have a live Mariachi band playing, and they were absolutely wonderful! Not to mention, the vegetarian fajitas and deep fried ice cream were PHENOMENAL!!! Could not have had a better experience.
