Made us feel stupid I used Dr. Iwata for years as my gynecologist but when it came time for my domestic partner to begin artificial insemination for pregnancy she was curt and down right rude. I felt she laughed at us for our attempts to use a sperm clinic and at the idea that my wife could conceive this way (our insurance would not pay for a fertility specialist until we had failed on our own for a year). Dr. Iwata I had both babies with Dr. Iwata. She's very straightforward and to the point when answering questions and exploring options. Gentle examinations. Both my daughters were born at Verdugo. The only complaints I had was in my second stay, the nurses were less on top of things than the staff I had with my first baby. But the doctor was consistently great.

My delivery was horrid I was referred to Dr. Iwata, but found her very cold my entire pregnancy. It was my first, I was in my twenties, and she made me feel stupid for asking questions. My labor and delivery was a nightmare. It was at Verdugo Hills Hospital. She was not there very often, the nurse ran it and it ended very horribly with Dr. Iwata having to rush in and save my son. Great Doctor! I've been using Dr. Iwata for quite some time. She is very gentle with her exams and takes the time to answer my questions. The office and staff are wonderful and never make me feel rushed or unimportant. I recommend that my family and friends use this office!

Mom Don't see her if you are looking for a good doctor. My daughter was diagnosed by Dr. Iwata with cancer cells and had to have a coposcopy to see the extent of the cancer. We have left five messages for her and yet to receive a phone call. Now my daughter has a lump in her breast and I asked my daughter what Dr. Iwata said when she did her breast exam and was told that SHE ONLY DID A PAP and did not even bother to do a pap. Not a very good bedside manner I went to her only once for a routine gynecological exam and was also looking for an ob-gyn because I was planning to try getting pregnant. Her bedside manner was rather abrupt and cold and not very patient in answering questions so I didn't go back to her.

caring gynecologist who listens Dr. Iwata is a rarity; she listens to her patients. Instead of pushing Fosamax for bone density, which they all do as the pharmaceutical company that makes it (Merck) gives MDs a lot of rewards for writing prescriptions for it. Dr. Iwata was open to prescribing a lesser-know, bone building nasal spray called Miacalcin. She gave a gentle, thorough exam & returns phone calls.

A great OBGYN right next to the hospital. I stumbled onto Dr. Iwata by accident when I first moved here 5 years ago. I've been going there ever since. She's personal and friendly. She took the time to get to know me during my pregnancy and was happy to deliver my daughter. A++ for personal service and a caring doctor.
