I recently hired Ivyland Hearth to come to my house to service my gas fireplace. I was told it would cost $219 for the service fee and any parts would be additional. When the repairman came to fix it he stated I had to pay him a separate fee to service it along with the price of the parts. He charged me an additional $196 for his parts and service. One of the parts was a thermopile for which he charged $120. I googled the price of thermopiles and didn’t see anything priced over $30. It also looked like he was using used part... read more
