I’ve been to Ivanhoe eye clinic twice with my daughter. The first time I visited, my daughter was a very unsettled, colicky infant and when I was told that I wouldn’t be seen for 2hrs despite arriving on time for my appt and it being late afternoon, I left. I returned with my daughter today for a different reason (now 2.4yo) and was met by the rudest, most abrupt receptionist I’ve ever met. I had my first cataract surgery 4 weeks ago. I found the whole experience to be both professional and polite. As someone who was a little apprehensive about the procedure I found it to be a walk-in-the-park. The Manningham private hospital staff were excellent and the surgery was performed by Dr Kavita Khurana. It was over before I even realised it had started. Eye drops and a clear eye patch to wear in bed. No pain at all, just a little watering now and again and very slight redness. Second eye will be done in 5 days.

Receptionist is very rude, I’m still waiting to hear back from their practice manager to talk to them about Amanda’s behaviour. I was sent a reminder message regarding one of my 1yr old twins appointment 2 days prior which I forgot to call and mention I couldn’t make it as I had been vomiting and looking after two kids in and out of hospital and one with epilepsy. Very disappointed with this clinic starting from the reception , who changed my originally referred ophthalmologist to another one because the original ophthalmologist was no longer doing ops and interventions . Reception staff should refrain from doing that , not give opinions and change referrals . She overode my gp referral Unfortunately the appointment got worse when the dr who took me over, dr Kabita Khurana an Indian lady was very rushed , brief and not so interested in listening .
