This er sucks!! Its packed today and my boyfriend has been there since 6:45pm and no one has been seen yet. Its now 9:15 pm. Worse ER to ever go to!!! They have no urgency to get people in and checked out. Glad I no longer attempt any service from this network/hospital anymore. Absolute worse!!! Better luck at Witham Hospital if we lived closer to it.
If you have time to wait 5 hours this is the place to be!
In the last 7 months I’ve been here 4 times. Once for myself, 3 for my elderly Aunt. Mine was as a 50 year old woman brought in by ambulance with a heart attack. The ER doctor was condescending, and a real jerk. Telling me I wasn’t having a heart attack, it was probably my pancreas. Wrong. Was a heart attack and had to have 2 stents placed. Very disappointed in the ER at IU West. Twice I have been there with no resolution. They do not take the time to explore all the possibilities of the issue. I still have a very serious acute issue. I will try another ER next time but it’s sad because IU West ER is closest to my home.
We had two different experiences in this emergency room. One on a Friday the 28th of march 2025. when my wife was brought in with a kidney stone via in an ambulance. Nurse Taylor did what she could however, the lock inside the room that my wife was in did not function well so she could not get the ice packs that my wife needed in order to be comfortable while she waited for the medication.
