I had a deeply disappointing and traumatic experience at the ER today. I clearly explained my complex illness and neurological symptoms and told staff I couldn’t handle the overwhelming waiting room environment. They saw me visibly declining but did nothing to help. Despite repeatedly being told a doctor was coming to see me, no doctor ever appeared. I had been fighting GI issues since Saturday. It appeared suddenly and I had gone to urgent care the day before with no improvement. I arrived and was checked in and triaged straight to a room. My nurses and doctor were amazing. I was alone and with their attention to detail and care I felt safe and comfortable even with the pain I had. It seems like they need new nurses there, as the current staff provided consistently poor care. I hope the hospital improves communication and compassion to ensure better care for every patient.

I would surpass this place if at all possible! I witnessed multiple people waiting to be seen after triage for upwards of three hours in the waiting room. We checked in a few times at the desk to see when we would be able to have my sister seen. Upon the third occasion, we were told that people are seen upon priority; which I fully understand ( for ex: a heart attack is certainly more urgent than the flu). I presented to the ER with increasing chest pain/pressure and shortness of breath. I was seen almost immediately. EKG taken, blood drawn for work ups, chest X-ray— all done right away before being taken to a room and hooked up for monitoring. My care team was great; just seeing how competently they worked around me put me at ease during a frightening time.
