I was sent to IU Health Arnett's Emergency Room by the Nurse Practitioner in my doctor's office. In the ER, they started an IV and did lab work. The bill was over $6000 with $2565 being the charge for the IV. I thought that was a little too much. I contacted other hospitals in Central Indiana and inquired about their charge using the same CPT code. The charge for the IV ranged from $350 - $700 at other facilities.
