Stayed at the resort for 2 nights in March 2025. The only reason this is not a 5star for me is because they charges me $30 for in room movie rental (we stayed during March madness, we didn’t rent a movie). They also charged me $270 that was charged to my room from the Drift bar/restaurant. I was never there either. They did refund me but I had to call on 3 different occasions before I finally got a call back and a resolution Staff was very friendly & helpful for where to eat. The resort is stunning; grounds are immaculate and lush; excellent food at the restaurant & bar. Pool was taken over by kids most of the afternoon; noisy but very quiet at night. Stayed 3 nights in the Buttonwood suite; well equipped tho no microwave. Fridge in the bedroom not the kitchen. The phone didn’t work & electric was out in the small bathroom; was never addressed by staff. The mattress was comfy but sat on a wood frame so every move made a noise; not a good night’s sleep. The Islander is a stunning venue for a wedding, but I highly recommend hiring an experienced wedding planner to help navigate some of the challenges with the resort's communication and internal processes. Unfortunately, it seems "system errors" and last-minute updates are a recurring theme, based on conversations with other brides and vendors.
