I’ve just pounded an Islander Camper emu over 17,000 km of mostly dirt roads with virtually no problems. I had to get a chassis extension on a standard Hilux before the 2.4 emu was good to drive but once I had done that it was great. Oodnadatta track Arnhemland, Gibb River Road, Tanami Desert, plenty highway. It got a real beating and came through with flying colours.
A great product that is fully manufactured on site. Would highly recommend. The service they offer is outstanding. We collected our camper 6 months ago and we were exceptionally happy with it but unfortunately (no one’s fault) it developed an irreparable issue with the roof. Instead of just replacing the roof they went above and beyond and built us a new camper. If you want a well built, light weight Australian slide on camper consider Islandcampers.
