Manager Pheng has 12 plus years in the food industry business and has held many positions in a kitchen over this time. I don't even know if the food is good here. This place refuses to answer their phone. If you order online, you can't get everything you want, and if you call, you'll never get anything. I'll try a couple more times before dropping or raising my review.
We came here about 6 months ago and it was amazing, sadly we were bitterly disappointed this time. We were informed about the new management and that now it was 1 roll per person with the all you can eat. That on itself wasn’t great but we could manage if not too hungry. Unfortunately this is where things really take a dive, because they take between 30 to 40 minutes to bring you your next roll. called at 1pm for a pick up order, ordered 4 rolls and whoever I was on the phone with said it would take 35 minutes for one roll because they didn’t have everything prepped and ready. changed the roll to something else and then was quoted for 15 minutes. when he was ending the call he then said it will be 25 minutes. I got there and he told me it will be 10 more minutes, after the 10 minutes he said they had to redo a roll because one was messed up. Had to give it a 1 since I can’t give a zero. Very slow service. Had been waiting over 30 minutes and still didn’t have our first order before we left. Would not recommend and will not be returning.
I visited Island Sushi because of its high Google rating, but I wish I had looked more closely—most of the positive reviews are from several years ago. The more recent reviews reflect a decline in quality, and unfortunately, I can only echo those negative experiences. From the start, things felt disorganized.
