Island Römer is an excellent kayaking experience. Start to finish our guide Richard was very attentive to all members of the group. Helping everyone with any thing they needed, including getting in and out of the kayak and getting familiarized with gear. Richard also provided an excellent learning experience on the kayaking journey about the island and surrounding area of Nanaimo. History lessons baked into the kayaking. A really enjoyable guided tour around Saysutshun Island. We lucked out with beautiful weather and calm waters. Richard’s knowledge of the history and ecology of the area, along with his personable manner, made this tour more than just a paddle. Highly recommended!
Richard was a fantastic tour guide. My friend and I were complete novices in kayaking but he was an excellent and patient teacher. Richard was also very knowledgeable about the history revolving around the land and the town. Overall enjoyable experience and will do it again!
We did the 4-hour sea kayaking tour and had a really great time. We’re not experienced kayakers, so we weren’t sure how it would go, but it was easier than we expected and we really enjoyed it. We brought our teenagers along and they did great too. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced. We learned a lot along the way. Overall, it was a really fun experience and something we’re glad we did. Definitely worth it!
