I have never had the pleasure of visiting Jamaica, so I dont know how authentic this place is, but its some of the best chicken I have ever had in my life. Make sure you try the yellow rice (with extra sauce) and the macaroni and cheese. The value is incredible and the staff are super helpful and generous with portions. Going there was ok. I mean the staff seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. Maybe just having a bad morning. The fried bananas were overcooked and the oxtails were under cooked and over seasoned. I think they were in a hurry to make a dollar, because I would never sell oxtails like that to a paying customer or my family. I spent over $65 and I had to try and salvage the oxtail by wrapping them in foil and cooking them in the oven, which I was trying NOT to use today. Food was amazing! Fresh and tasty. I highly recommend it. Had the curry chicken with rice and jerk chicken. I am definitely going back for another plate.
First time trying Jamaican food, and Island Pan did not disappoint! Such flavorful food and such generous portions. Will be dining again when back in Asheville area.
