When Gibby and Bessie Gibbs bought the Island Hotel in 1946, Bessie concentrated her efforts on the dining room and quickly established the hotel restaurant as the place to come for seafood. Having very high standards, the seafood, vegetables and other ingredients used in food preparation, had to be fresh. The seafood was often just off the boat and the vegetables fresh from the garden. This old building is amazing. If you enjoy authentic old buildings that are still as they were, this is your place!
Great food, don't miss the filet
The hospitality and service is first rate. Friendly staff and owners. The food was fantastic from a varied menu. Live music 4 of the 5 nights we stayed. I highly recommend checking out this cool vibe hotel and restaurant.
