Stay here if you love historic hotels, antiques and a spacious outdoor porch overlooking the town. Quiet night’s sleep in Room #35 (Jimmy Buffett also slept here). Enjoyed the early evening music in the courtyard. Staff was friendly and efficient. Easy to walk around the waterfront. I would definitely go back.
My boyfriend and I had dinner at the restaurant during our second anniversary trip this past weekend. Food and drinks were excellent, but our server went above and beyond for both us and others dining. I am kicking myself for not remembering her name but she embodies the spirit of Cedar Key that we encountered here this weekend- compassionate, honest, and here to care for others. We loved our stay here. Will definitely go back.
This is not the Marriott which, for me, is the good news. This is an amazing old Hotel from 1859. The look and feel is very nostalgic. The woodwork is priceless. The view from the wrap around porch allows you to see the water and relax in a cool breeze. The rooms are a little small, but adequate. I'm sorry I did not get a chance to dine in the restaurant, but I'm quite certain it would have satisfied.
