Was way backed up with people. I was violently ill throwing up every 10 or 15 minutes. With no place to lie down and a severe stage degenerative spine, cannot sit 5 min with out pain, made many time worse from wretching. So I had to lay on the floor for four and a half hours. Fortunately I had brought a blanket because I am always freezing cold from this happens and they wouldn't give me any blankets nor would they give me a pillow even when this happens. Very professional staff. Helpful in every way. I wasn’t having my best day and they treated me with care and compassion. Plus they went the extra mile to help arrange for me to get home. I’d give six stars if it were possible.
The care at Island Hospital was extraordinary-I ought to know; I’m a retired CRNA with 45 years practice . The ER staff, from cleaning crew to Nurse Director, were not only efficient but caring. One was thoughtful enough to order lunch, not only for me but for my husband as well…we’d been in the ER. for hours by then. Dr B. was superb; thorough, caring and careful.
