I’ve tried this place like 4 times. Kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. They cap the top of the tamale to make it seemed like it filled but in reality it’s dry and barely any filling. Drive a bit further down 63rd to lupitas for a proper tamale
Got the green chicken tamales and red pork tamales last weekend. They were fully cooked, not dry, and flavorful. My favorite one is the red pork tamales and they taste just how they are supposed to taste like. I pay $30 for 18 tamales which is a very reasonable price. Definitely, the best tamales around my area so far.
Hands down, the best tamales in the Chicagoland area. So many options, lots of vegetarian options, decent spice level. Champurrado is to die for.
