Sam is just the best. I had several guitar lessons with him and he really taught me so much about theory, in a way I could understand. Just so friendly and accommodating too. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
Sam Irvin and his colleague played guitar and violin background music for my husbands 75th birthday party. Setting up the gig was easy, especially being able to talk personally. I requested Beatles music in addition to more music of my husbands era and they did beautifully, including throwing in some jazz. A fantastic upgrade to any event! Sam played at my niece's outdoor wedding in September, and was a joy to have with us that day. His pop and jazz concert prior to the ceremony, the classical music he played for the processionals, and the music at the end and afterwards during photos really elevated the whole morning. Had a great time recording some original songs in Sam's studio recently. Sam is very friendly and professional, and I appreciated the great communication leading up to the session. I learned a great deal about recording and the post-production process. Sam, thanks for your patience and sharing your knowledge as we went along! Great experience.
Sam is the best! I'd highly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding in NC or beyond. He was very responsive over email, lovely to chat with, and very flexible to work with. He also understood the music vibe we were looking for immediately, and he arranged a great duet for our cocktail hour (he played the guitar and his colleague played the violin).
