My side pannier opened about 50 miles into my 61 mile rush hour commute I make each way and I found out when I turned the bike and heard the scraping. Thank God I did not have anything in the pannier at the time. I drove over to IRV Seaver and shared my story with Jeff Ottinger who told me that it looked like the rope and metal piece got caught in the pannier which is why it opened after extended driving over the rumble strips on the way home.
