EDIT: Aparrently the distiller who was usually there, John, no longer works there and I had to modify my review down 3 stars. The whiskey is still solid but the place has definitely changed. Idk what it was about Irons One prior to recently but its just not the same unfortunately. Whoever this new guy is, he enjoys bragging about being on Master Dustiller tv show (he lost the episode he was in. Not sure how thats a brag. Very informative!
This place is a hidden gem. Got to meet and talk to the master distiller and sample some great bourbon! Their Char series is delicious and ranks right up there with some of my all time favorites. Go check them out. You will not be disappointed.
Loved the tour and the personal attention. Irons One bourbon is top notch; if you haven’t tried it yet you SHOULD!! Matthew was great, and really knows his bourbon!! Can’t wait for all the new exciting things coming for Irons One!
As a dedicated Scotch drinker, I usually find most bourbons to be a bit thin or 'watery'—always feeling like they’re missing a layer of complexity. Irons ONE has completely changed that for me. The attention to detail during the tasting was incredible, and being able to taste through the different char levels really showed the craftsmanship behind the bottle.
