my wife just started with the credit union we do alot of purchases and during one of our meals her debit card was declined "with over $1000 in the account" how embarrassing so I had to use cash then when we called they told her you can only use your card a certain number of times a day thinking how stupid that was I said why ? she yelled at my wife and said thats just the way it is... wow! lmao how dumb.. glad wells Fargo doesn't have that!! we'll be closing the account after that! the customer service is horrible and not be... read more

Hi Seamus! Our debit card limits are put in place as an anti-fraud measure and are stated in our EFT disclosure that everyone receives when they open accounts with us. I'm sorry you and your wife had that experience! Most institutions, Wells Fargo included (https://www.wellsfargo.com/.../checking.../debit-card-faqs/), have limits on their debit cards. Please contact our Debit Department for further explanation, if needed.

I have done business with them for several years. Awesome staff, always tries to help. But I don't understand how their financing works. One time I went in to borrow like $2,000 with no collateral. No questions asked. That got paid off and I asked for a 10 day loan for $300 because a company charged my debit card 5 times for the same transaction and I didn't want an overdraft fee while I got it fixed up. Called to get a loan, was using the vehicle we were gonna purchase as collateral. Vehicle is worth much more than the loan. Approval was supposed to happen the day of and never did. So we called the next day, they had forgot about it. Said they would find out around 11am. Around 2:30 we had not got a call yet so we called again. They had forgot about it AGAIN. "We'll find out around 3" we were told. Still never got submitted. Finally they said we needed a co signer. Which makes no sense because the car should have been enoug... read more
