I could not beleive how much of a ***-*** this place is. I'm just so amazed and speechless. Ok I'll try to utter my experience. As a favor to you, I'm going to rate the place on the items that I ordered. But first, the seating is very UNCOMFORTABLE. I mean please, if you're going to charge me a fortune to eat there, make sure I can be exploited in a comfortable seat, not some little, turn of the century, wooden chair with paper thin padding. My grandmother used to have a chair like that. It came as a set when you ordered the... read more
Best Restaurant in Town – First off, the address on this site is wrong. This restaurant has moved to the French Quarter at 321 N. Peters St. This is a wonderful restaurant that I have recently discovered located in the French Quarter. I have never had a bad dish there. The scallops and the duck are probably my favorite. But then there are also the sweetbreads and the duck confit salad. It is obvious from the first bite that this chef loves what he does. The atmosphere is great for any occasion. I have been there with a large... read more
Dinner at Iris restaurant – I had dinner at Iris on Saturday night with two friends and we were all disappointed with our meals. I ordered a sirloin strip steak, rare, and parmesan fries ($26). When my steak arrived it was no more than a thin little steak with an unnecessary round of butter on top, reminiscent of the kind they used to serve at Bonanza or Buck Forty Nine. Nothing extraordinary, in fact, way less than ordinary. My friends each had something different...beef short ribs (2) and a few potatoes with fennel - not g... read more
Cozy jewel hidden in Uptown's Riverbend area provides diners with contemporary American fare with a twist. – In Short Dark wood floors and green walls highlight the dozen or so tables at this quaint bistro (formerly Mango House) off Carrollton Avenue. Couples nestle inside the two-room, New Orleans-style house to nosh on gnocchi, shrimp and duck confit appetizers. Other menu favorites include halibut, beef short ribs, duck breast and fettuccini. Meanwhile, smokers and those who want to enjoy an early spring breeze opt for se... read more
Potential – I must say that the service was excellent. On the other hand, my group think that's it way over-priced. Everything from the wine prices to dessert. I ordered the Duck entree and it wasn't even a duck. I am a avid hunter and it definately was not duck. More like a small turkey was a drumstick. Probably will not return.
Best romantic date night! – This is a fantastic new restaurant uptown! We had a great dinner there last night--everything was perfect, the service was great and and the atmosphere is romantic and peaceful. A great date spot!
Such Potential – They have the right idea, just need to work on the execution. The menu is great, but the timing is off on the cooking. All of my dishes were just on this side of burnt. It ruined the flavor a bit, but it was still enjoyable. If they work out the kinks, it will be a great place.
