If I could leave 0 stars I would. What a scam of a call center. No one knows what’s going on and they offer misinformation. I have court fines from years ago I set up a payment plan for with them insinuating it would be automatically taken out of my account the same day each month. I noticed my payment was not taken out so I call. They are saying I’m confused when they ask what amount I want to pay and for which ticket. I have not lived in Iowa since 2019. I received a letter from the Department of Revenue requiring submission of my 2023 W2 and full tax return. I called and inquired as to why this was being required of me, and was told I had some disclosure I had made to Iowa in 2022 and I was being required to prove I did not need to make the same disclosure to Iowa in 2023. Would leave 0 stars if possible. Been calling all day about a a notice of payment from filing my taxes in 2022 and called the number on the letter no more than 15 times and left numerous voice mails. All I want is an explanation about why I owe a certain amount of money and haven't heard a damn thing. Very frustrating to work with the IRS.
I don't even know where to start. Their operation is a really good example of actual fraud waste and abuse in government. So 2023 I file my taxes and authorize a payment. Nothing happens. Now I admit fault here. I just assume it will be taken care of electronically, since I authorized the removal of payment, and I didn't watch for it. So imagine my surprise when in 2025 I receive a letter in the mail (at my new address, not in Iowa) saying I still owe. Okay, I ensure the money is there and authorize a payment. Nothing.
