’m extremely disappointed with the billing practices at IHC. I was told my son couldn’t have surgery unless we paid $1,100 up front, before insurance was even billed. We have PEHP insurance with a $700 deductible, and the allowable contracted amount for the procedure is $841. Yet somehow IHC is charging us over $3k. To make matters worse, we were required to pay an additional “deposit” directly to the surgeon to hold the appointment, an amount that IHC later confirmed doesn’t apply toward our deductible or out-of-pocket max.... read more

I have been at patient at intermountain health care ( formerly IHC), for quite some time. During the time I have been a patient they have repeatedly practiced ILLEGAL business practices. Month after month I would pay my bills with a check, they would cash it, but NOT post it’s paid on my balance, they would then send me more bills as well as threatening pre-collection notices.
