I was taken to the back office within a minute of sitting down, granted I chose the first appointment after lunch. The nurse was pleasant. Dr. Summerlee came in around ten minutes later and spent a full 20 minutes with me. I was really impressed by his knowledge, listening skills, the homework he had done on me before he walked in ("I checked your records and...") and I never felt rushed even though I brought up 4-5 topics. Intercoastal is horrible. Rude, uncaring, and will not set an appointment unless you are an existing patient.
My family are prominent scientists and doctors so I contacted the chair at U of Fl for a recommendation here in Sarasota and Dr Summerlee received very high praise. My husband had a malignant stomach gist and thyroid cancer diagnosed 12 years ago Mayo Clinic Mn. The poor rating is based entirely on his VERY poor disorganized support staff. ZERO follow up despite three calls after an emergency colonoscopy ( to determine if he needs serious intestinal surgery at SMH with excellent surgeon Dr Novak). Dr. Summerlee spent a long time with me in the office this morning and listened to all of my input, and we discussed past and future tests that have been performed or that he would recommend in the future. I feel that I am in good hands with his suggestions and approach to my situation.
