Since I was diagnosed with Alpha Gal (a tick-borne mammal allergy that gets worse with additional tick bites), I found and have been using insect shield products. I've used products treated by Insect Shield through a third-party seller and been very satisfied. That seller went out of business, so I placed an order to have *my* clothes treated directly by Insect Shield. Their prices seemed a bit high to me ( $9 to treat a pair of socks???), but the service is vital to me; I hike outdoors a lot in what is locally referred to as "Tick Central". Their concept of people sending in clothes to get treated with InsectShield sounds great. But Im giving them 2-stars because they use Fedex. Currently, my clothes were shipped back on Jun1. Today is Jun11 and they've been sitting in Northampton PA since Jun4. I dont have mailing issues when I send my climbing shoes to get re-soled. Why? Because the people that resole my climbing ahoes dont use Fedex. This is the first time Ive used InsectShield's services.....and I wont send my clothes in again. I have used Insect Shield to bug proof my mosquito net for 10 years and have never been disappointed. I live in Costa Rica in the winter and bugs are a major hassle. With my net protected by Insect shield, I sleep undisturbed and bug free.
