My wife has been in the ER for hours now but I can’t visit because of a security lockdown? I have worked in acute care hospitals for years and never seen a security lockdown for so long… worse of all you plant one poor guy out in the waiting room for the entire lockdown by himself to endure the abuse of every family member who is worried about their patient???? He deserves a huge raise… take it out of the director of public safety’s paycheck since he couldn’t be bothered to come support his employee….
This hospital sucks! The staff is unhelpful and they take forever just to complete a simple blood test. They make you sit and wait for hours in the ER just to tell you that nothing is really wrong and give you some advil from the pharmacy. They always give the excuse that they are sooooo busy but then have like 6 people chilling at the center desk with the computers chit chatting.
I am supposed to have a surgery literally tomorrow and none of my correspondence has a time on it for when that is, when I tried calling during the hours given, they are already closed and the main operator apparently does not have access to anything, so tomorrow I might not be having surgery and I'm sure they'll still bill my insurance and me for it
Save your sanity if you hate dealing with bureaucracy. I have been with my specialist at INOVA for the past three years. The doctor himself is friendly, kind, and caring. However, working with the office and care team has been extremely frustrating -- They are very hard to reach, with long wait times on the phone. Messages to the doctor’s team often take a long time to receive a response, and requests can take a long time to be processed. My daughter came in to the emergency room after 6 months of gastro issues, vomiting to the point of extreme dehydration. She was dismissed with a prescription for zofran even though she made it very clear that zofran did not help her symptoms in the previous six months despite doctors saying she was just nauseous. She was released, feeling shamed - even though she had highly elevated blood test levels they did not pay attention to.
